What to Sell at a Craft Market? Driftwood or Driftwood Crafts?

There is no reason why you can’t sell both driftwood pieces and driftwood crafts at a craft market. In fact, it may be a good idea to sell both at a craft market.

Selling driftwood pieces at a craft market usually costs you only preparation time. There are hardly any other costs involved in selling pieces – unless you’re buying your pieces instead of finding and collecting them yourself.

If you’re buying driftwood pieces to resell them, your costs could still be minimal compared to spending time on the beach, the cost of petrol for your car to get you to the beach and back, and time spent cleaning and sorting your pieces when you get back home from the beach.

assortment of driftwood pieces

Assortment of driftwood pieces – display your pieces for sale at the craft market in any way you like – spaced out evenly on a nice large flat surface, or in a big box that people can rummage through (the smaller pieces) – or even in nice neat rows on an interesting or natural type mat on the ground – or scatter a few pieces between your driftwood craft or decor items – they may look like part of your display or presentation so put prices on them or nearby to show that they too are for sale

Selling driftwood crafts at a craft market doesn’t need to cost you too much either. Depending on what the driftwood craft or decor items are that you’re making, again, your cost may be mostly time-related.

Time spent on making something from driftwood will be more time than you spend on simply selling pieces you’ve collected, sorted and cleaned, or bought, but on the other hand you can sell your driftwood crafts or decor pieces for considerably more than you sell just the pieces for.

A summary of the above content:

a)
Driftwood pieces – minimal time and / or costs, but can’t sell them too expensively.

b)
Driftwood crafts and driftwood decor – more time, but can sell them for greater prices than the pieces.

You may get two types of visitors to your driftwood craft market stall

1.
The first type of visitor to your driftwood craft market stall may want to make their own craft items or decor items from driftwood.

2.
The second type of visitor to your driftwood craft market stall may simply want to buy something already made.

By selling both driftwood pieces and driftwood craft or decor items, you are catering to both types of visitors.

Conclusion and a further thought:
While it is very rewarding to collect one’s own pieces at the beach, and make one’s own driftwood craft items or driftwood decor items, to save time, one can consider buying pieces to resell at the craft market, and one can consider paying somebody else to make the craft or decor items one wishes to sell at the craft market.
